The Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has declared his unwavering support for the emergence of Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the state’s 2027 gubernatorial election.
In a post on X on Sunday, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives noted that he was pleased to welcome Hamzat, who arrived with his entourage for a consultative visit.
Gbajabiamila extolled the deputy governor’s leadership virtues, reaffirming his total commitment to his candidature.
“I received H.E. Obafemi Hamzat and his entourage, who came for a consultative visit on his aspiration to lead our dear state,” he wrote.
“We engaged, and his capacity is not in doubt. We will continue to share ideas on how to continue to move Lagos forward and build on the work already done by past governors.”

Hamzat, during the visit, shared his vision to consolidate on the good work of Sanwo-Olu’s administration, adding that he is fully prepared for the task ahead.
“It remains our shared responsibility to strengthen Lagos and continue delivering better outcomes for our people,” he said.
“I am focused and clear about the work ahead.”
Gbajabiamila’s endorsement marks another round of support by APC stakeholders in Lagos state after former Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and Senator Tokunbo Abiru threw their weight behind the deputy governor’s political aspiration.
